Prof. Dennis Edler, Editor-in-Chief of KN – Journal of Cartography and Geographic Information and researcher at the Institute of Geography of Ruhr University Bochum, has received the Springer Nature Editorial Contribution Award 2026.

The award recognizes outstanding editorial service, particularly the careful assessment of manuscript submissions and the rigorous management of the peer-review process, thereby contributing to the scientific quality and integrity of published research.

Following the same distinction in 2025, this marks the second consecutive year that the journal’s editorial leadership has been honored with this international award by Springer Nature. Since 2021, Dennis Edler has been serving as Editor-in-Chief of the journal and has been responsible for overseeing its editorial development and peer-review processes.
