Introductory overview of the contents and typical questions of climatology and biogeography. Acquisition of basic knowledge and correlations from these sub-areas and their linkage in landscape-ecological processes and structures at different scale levels (scientific competence). Handling of fundamental physical-geographical recording and measuring procedures (methodological competence).
Lecture climatology: energy and radiation balance, heat, temperature, water cycle, climate classifications.
Lecture biogeography: areal science, ecology of plants and animals, temporal and spatial dynamics of biocenoses, ecological scales and patterns
Field practical course: practice of vegetation recording and site characterisation as well as climatological measurement methods
2 Lectures, field practical
Attendance is compulsory for the field practical course, as practical methods and procedures for the collection of geofactors are applied by students.
1 written exam (120 min.)
